Vampire Empire Projection Mapping

Vampire Empire was a Burning Man camp built around a custom Romanian-inspired cathedral: a gothic, theatrical structure with tall window surfaces that asked for content to feel embedded in the architecture rather than projected over it.

MELT created a custom projection mapping package for the cathedral, treating the windows like stained glass coming alive after dark. The visual system combined glass textures, alpha mattes, glow transitions, cracked-window studies, bat-burst moments, and long-form atmospheric loops designed for the camp's nighttime environment.

The work was built around the custom geometry of the cathedral, using window mattes and transparent deliverables so each look could sit inside the facade. The result gave Vampire Empire a flexible mapped language for mood, transformation, and ritual-scale spectacle in the playa dust.
