Client: Adult Swim / Turner Media Location: ROW DTLA, outside the former American Apparel warehouse in Downtown Los Angeles
For the inaugural Adult Swim Festival, Melt Interactive worked directly with the Adult Swim animation team to transform a massive Downtown Los Angeles warehouse facade into an animated architectural canvas. The projection-mapped show used eight 30,000-lumen laser projectors across the building exterior, blending Adult Swim character animation, new episode moments, Rick and Morty content, and branded festival artwork into a continuous nighttime environment for the crowd.
Melt handled the turnkey projection-mapping workflow from projection planning and media-server playback through alignment, blending, on-site calibration, and show operation. By treating the industrial facade as a layered architectural screen rather than a flat billboard, we used depth, motion, and forced-perspective animation to make the building feel alive over the two-day festival.
