For Knotfest 2014 in San Bernardino, MELT created custom content and operated live visuals for the festival and Slipknot. The visual system extended beyond a conventional stage screen: projectors turned the venue walls on both sides of the stage into two large mapped canvases that could carry designed media and live images from the performance.
Custom content for Slipknot
The content package was developed around Slipknot's dark visual language. Bloody walls, grungy brick, crypt-like spaces, eyes, maggots, and other horror imagery were built into a library of show-ready loops and sequences. The goal was not simply to place a logo beside the stage, but to make the surrounding architecture feel connected to the band's performance world.
Live VJ operation and camera integration
Morgan Lavery, performing as VJ Infinight, operated the show visuals live. Artist camera feeds were combined with MELT's custom content so the side-stage surfaces could move between close-up performance imagery, designed environments, and layered hybrid looks in response to the show.
A related 360-degree environment
MELT returned to the Knotfest world for the 2016 announcement uniting Knotfest and Ozzfest. Working for SGE at the Hollywood Palladium, the team created custom 360-degree mapped video environments shaped to the interior contours of the venue.
